Some of the graduate programs at Purdue University are available fully online. Others are available in a hybrid format; students will do most of their coursework online, but they will be required to attend class on-campus at times throughout the course of their degree. Degree options for prospective students include programs in areas such as public health, education, and project management.
The Master of Public Health degree is designed for students who are interested in enacting and identifying public health solutions globally, nationally, and locally. The faculty is comprised of an accomplished team of practitioners who provide training in science-based knowledge, thus giving students the confidence they need to develop evidence-based, effective programs. Throughout the 14-course, 42-credit-hour program, students will learn how to analyze research studies and then incorporate their findings into real-world situations. The program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health and can be completed in two years, excluding the time required for the culminating experience and practicum. Students may opt to pursue an online-only concentration in family and community health. Through this concentration, students will look through the lens of contemporary communities and families by studying communication, nutrition, and social factors as well as elements that contribute to health disparities.

Throughout the 18-month, 30-credit program, students will learn to maximize the role they play in the lifecycle of curriculum development in order to develop students who love to learn and thrive in the classroom. Students will be prepared with advanced experiences and skills in teaching, creating, and evaluating curricula. As graduates, students will be able to conduct, understand, and communicate research to their community, administrators, local policymakers, and colleagues with the goal of creating successful learning outcomes for their students. Students may choose from four concentrations in mathematics education, English language learning, educational technology, and gifted, creative, and talented studies.
The online Master of Science in Information Technology Project Management degree features material included in the Body of Knowledge developed by the Project Management Institute such as management of outsourced resources, portfolio management, schedule development and management, and requirements discovery and management. The curriculum enhances students’ knowledge in the areas of risk management, communications, cost, time, and cope, and concepts gained throughout the program include critical thinking, communication, quality, controlling, monitoring, and implementing project plans. Courses are offered in an eight-week format for flexibility, so students may complete the 34-credit-hour program in 12 months to five years. After graduation, students will be eligible to sit for the Project Management Professional certification exam. If a student is already PMP-certified, he or she is only required to take 30 credit hours to earn the degree.
Purdue University is a public research university located in West Lafayette, Indiana. Purdue University Application Requirements
Students who are pursuing online graduate studies at Purdue University must complete an application, submit the results of their graduate standardized tests, and pay a $60 nonrefundable application fee. The specific application requirements will vary depending on the degree chosen, but students can expect to upload official transcripts for every institution of higher education attended as well as letters of recommendation. Other required documents may include resumes, statements of purpose, and essays.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition rates for online graduate programs will depend on the program studied, credits taken, and whether the student is a veteran of U.S. military servicemember. Standard tuition rates for degrees in criminal justice, education, health education, information technology, legal studies, and social and behavioral studies cost $420 per credit hour, while degrees in healthcare administration and business cost $485 per credit hour. The doctoral degree in nursing practice costs $700 per credit hour, and students pursuing the ExcelTrack for the Master of Business Administration program will pay $1,550 per term. The process for filing for graduate student aid is similar to filing for undergraduate students. Those interested must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility. Possible forms of financial aid include private loans and federal loans such as the Graduate PLUS Loan. At Purdue University, graduate students may also be eligible for scholarships, fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships through the individual academic departments.
