Drury University offers four online master’s degrees for today’s working professionals. Each program features an outstanding faculty, small class sizes, applied learning experiences, and innovative curricula to advance students’ knowledge and careers.
The online Master of Business Administration is the degree of choice for professionals seeking a well-rounded program in integrative thought and strategic planning across multiple business disciplines. Students will focus on teamwork, and collaboration helps them to establish strong professional networks with peers in charge of organizations throughout a number of industries. Client-focused projects and case studies allow students to sharpen their analytical skills and apply theoretical principles to ever-changing, complex business issues. Students must complete 30 credit hours to earn their degree, and those who still need to complete prerequisite courses may do so through the five-week MBA Boot Camp. Students who choose this route earn eight hours of undergraduate credit and fulfill all prerequisites for the MBA program. All MBA students must complete courses in areas such as the economics of strategy, measuring and reporting financial and statistical information, strategic organization and human resources management, corporate investment and valuation, and corporate responsibility, leadership, and ethics. In addition to the classroom coursework, students will take a week-long trip to an international business destination as part of the Global Business, New Ventures, and Innovations course. Transportation, lodging, and airfare costs are included.
The Master of Arts in Communication degree at Drury University prepares students for the role of writer/editor, communications strategist, public relations manager, communication director, and other positions that require expertise in integrated brand management, organizational culture, audience insights, digital communication, message development, strategic planning, and leadership. Students may choose from two emphasis options: Organizational Leadership and Change and Integrated Marketing Communications. A GRE test score is not required for admission, and students may tailor their culminating capstone experience to their specific professional interests. Students will take courses in areas such as media writing, ethics in media, direct marketing, account management, and strategic issues in management. Topics such as integrating marketing communication, marketing management, management and leadership, and organizational change are also studied, and students are required to complete a seminar in communication ethics in order to earn their degree. A three-credit internship is also required that allows students to apply their classroom learning to real-world, hands-on situations.
Students pursuing the Master of Arts in Education will benefit from a hybrid program format, and all concentrations are offered online, on-campus, or a combination of the two. Students may choose from a concentration in Integrated Learning, Special Reading, Special Education, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Leadership. In addition, students pursuing the Curriculum & Instruction specialization can choose from elementary education, middle school education, or secondary education. Drury University also offers an alternative track in special education, which consists of a master’s degree as well as a Missouri teaching certificate. This 45- to 48-credit-hour program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in education and who wish to obtain a Missouri teaching certificate in Mild/Moderate Disabilities. Courses are grouped into the following areas: social science, science and mathematics, humanities and fine arts, and professional education.
About Drury University
Drury University, originally known as Springfield College and formerly Drury College prior to 2000, is a private liberal arts college in Springfield, Missouri. Founded in 1873 by Congregationalist church missionaries in the mold of other similar schools such as Yale University and Dartmouth College, the early curriculum emphasized musical, religious, and educational strengths. Students initially came to the new college from a vast area, including the Indian Territories of Oklahoma. There were four women in the first graduating class. The school enrolls 3,160 students in the College of Continuing Professional Studies, 450 graduate students in six master’s degrees, and 1,600 undergraduate students. Established in 1873, Drury University is consistently ranked among the best liberal arts schools in the Midwest.

Drury University Application Requirements
Students seeking an online master’s degree from Drury University must complete an online application form and submit a nonrefundable $25 application fee. Applicants must also request official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended and meet the program’s minimum grade-point average requirements. Drury University requires students to complete the recommendation request form and supply the names of two academic and/or professional references. Students must also write a 500-word personal statement that discusses the applicant’s desire to pursue a graduate program at Drury University. Those pursuing an online Master of Business Administration are also required to complete and submit official scores for the Graduate Management Admission Test.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition costs for the online master’s degree programs at Drury University will vary according to the specific degree chosen. The Master of Business Administration costs $669 per credit hour, including $165 per hour for travel, and the Master of Arts in Communication costs $462 per credit hour. Students pursuing the online Master in Education costs $359 per credit hour, and the Master in Nonprofit and Civic Leadership costs $462 per credit hour. Graduate students may be entitled to receive financial aid in the form of loans, grants, private and public scholarships, work-study programs, assistantships, and more. To determine eligibility, students must complete the FAFSA. Drury University also recognizes its military students, offering tuition discounts and other benefits to active-duty military members and veterans as well as their eligible spouses and dependents.
