Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi originated on April 1, 1947, when the Baptist General Convention of Texas built the University of Corpus Christi at Chase Field for an inaugural class of 312. On January 7, 2011, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) mailed an official reaffirmation letter to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for extending the Level VI accreditation to 2020 under its 11th president, Dr. Kelly M. Quintanilla, who earned the Dora Cervera Mirabal Women’s Leadership Award. Located 1,014 miles east via Interstate 10 in Decatur, this great 11-state Gulf Coast accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to ensure the academic validity of TAMUCC’s 41 baccalaureate, 27 master’s, and six doctoral offerings. For 2018-19, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is billing Lone Star State graduates $198 per credit or $594 each three-credit course. Non-resident master’s students pay $640 per credit or $1,922 by course. The distance education fee adds $50 to $100 each course. Unless waived, health insurance costs $947 every semester. Online students void the $10,410 room and board expense for living at the Nueces County campus’ housing like Momentum Village.
