About the University of Texas at El Paso
The University of Texas at El Paso originated on April 16, 1913, when Governor O.B. Colquitt signed Senate Bill 183 to open the State School of Mines & Metallurgy at the 22-acre Fort Bliss. The University of Texas at El Paso Accreditation Details
On June 14, 2018, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees placed the University of Texas at El Paso on a 12-month Level VI accreditation warning that will require a Monitoring Report in June 2019 from its ninth president, Dr. Diana Natalicio, who earned the Harold W. McGraw Education Prize. The University of Texas at El Paso Application Requirements
Entering the University of Texas at El Paso is labeled “minimally difficult” by Peterson’s since 100 percent of the 4,281 male and 5,101 female Fall 2017 applicants were triumphant. Post-grad Miners digging the Extended University must complete a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree first. The MS in Construction Management requires a STEM major in Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields. College of Health Sciences entrants needs a CCNE-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing before all Online MSN tracks. Passing the NCLEX-RN exam for registered nursing is mandated. Future Nurse Practitioners particularly need 2+ years of bedside medical experience. Most online master’s request a minimum 2.5 GPAs, though the MEd in Curriculum & Instruction requires 3.0. On average, UTEP cohorts present a 3.48 GPA and 294 GRE General Test scores. English as a Second Language students needs at least a 79 TOEFL iBT or 550 TOEFL pBT mark. Online MFA in Creative Writing applicants must show writing talents in 10 poems or 20 fiction pages too.
The University of Texas at El Paso’s Graduate School generally has rolling admission for each seven-week session. Yet, some online programs have deadlines to meet. For 2017-18, the University of Texas at El Paso charged average in-state tuition of $4,665. Non-resident Graduate School tuition was $12,958 per year.
