Online graduate students applying to KSU can study one of six different fields, including social sciences, business and education. One of the top programs available is its WebMBA, which is available through its Coles College of Business. This MBA program allows students to complete all their requirements online. It ranks as one of the top online MBA programs for part-time students and as one of the most affordable MBA programs too. Students will complete 20 courses over five semesters. They take classes such as Human Behavior in Organizations, Managerial Decision Analysis and Global and International Business. KSU requires that these students complete an orientation too.

Though the university does not offer any education programs that will help students earn their teaching licenses, it does offer some graduate programs for licensed teachers. Its Master of Education in Early Childhood Education is a solid program designed to help students learn more about working with younger children. Ranked within the top five of all early childhood education online programs, it helps students earn an advanced degree in only 15 months. Students will take 36 credits of education courses on working with children up through the ages of fifth grade. The university offers similar programs in secondary and middle grades education.

Kennesaw State University offers one of the only Master of Science in International Policy Management available today. This program looks closely at how companies operate in the global market and what those companies must do overseas. The university requires that students start their classes in the fall and that they complete some of the program requirements by the following spring. KSU offers a version of this program for students who either already serve or plan to serve in the Peace Corps too. It accepts roughly 20 new students into the program each year.

Students can also earn 20 different certificates and six different endorsements through the university. Its online endorsement programs provide students with some extra training that they can use with either an undergrad or a graduate degree. They can earn an endorsement while working on a degree or after finishing one. Some of the top endorsement programs include those in reading, online teaching and gifted, which prepares teachers for working with gifted and talented students.

KSU offers one of the only Autism Spectrum Disorder certificate programs available online. This program prepares students for working with individuals on the spectrum and helps them meet some of the requirements for getting their applied behavior analysis credentials. Certificates are also available in fields such as digital and social media and quality assurance.

Other online graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Software Engineering, Master of Science in Engineering Management, and more.

Kennesaw State University is one of the campuses that make up the University System of Georgia, which consists of public schools of higher learning in the state. Founded in the early 1960s as Kennesaw Junior College, it saw more than 1,100 students sign up for classes during its first full school year. Students could earn two-year degrees from the college and transfer their credits to a full university later. It became Kennesaw College in the 1970s after adding four-year programs to its curriculum. The university also served as Kennesaw State College before becoming a university in 1996. Many now call the campus either Kennesaw State or KSU.

KSU offers more than 20 degree programs for graduate students. Many of those programs are available through the university’s online campus. It also became a doctoral research institute in 2016 and now offers several doctoral programs too. With a total enrollment of more than 35,000 students, KSU is now one of the largest public colleges in the state.

Kennesaw State University Accreditation Details

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCC) awards accreditation to Kennesaw State. This type of accreditation applies to all the traditional programs available as well as all its online degree programs. As SACSCC is a type of regional accreditation, students can transfer their school credits and apply for financial aid. Some of the graduate programs offered online also have specialty accreditation from organizations within the business, education and other fields.

Kennesaw State University Application Requirements

KSU really only requires three things from graduate students applying for admissions. It asks that those students complete the online application, which features sections on their educational interests and their professional experiences. There is a $60 application fee due at the time that a student submits one of these applications. The KSU Graduate College also asks for official transcripts that show a student maintained a grade point average of 2.75 or higher while working on an undergrad degree.

Select programs may have other requirements in place. Students should look at the degrees they want to earn to learn more about these requirements. Many programs ask for both a resume and a goals statement. Others may ask for a letter of intent or a writing sample instead. Students may need to submit an official test score from the GRE or another exam also.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Graduate students attending classes on the KSU campus will pay $1,143 per credit hour as a Georgia resident. Any student who lives outside of the state prior to enrolling pay a nonresident rate of $1,898 per credit hour. Those figures include all the fees that students pay also. KSU also charges both resident and nonresident rates for online students. Residents pay $$437 per credit hour, while nonresidents pay $588 per credit hour. Online students pay less in terms of fees too. To qualify for the resident rate, students must show the university proof that they lived in Georgia full-time over at least the last 12 months.

Students applying to the university who want to start in the fall must submit the FAFSA by April 1 to qualify for financial aid. The university has other deadlines for students who want to start at the beginning of other semesters. Most online students will use federal loan money to cover some or all of their costs. The federal program offers unsubsidized loans that students begin paying off after they graduate. KSU can offer help to students who want to use PLUS and alternative student loans and those who want to look at other financial aid programs.
