Kennesaw State University is one of the campuses that make up the University System of Georgia, which consists of public schools of higher learning in the state. Founded in the early 1960s as Kennesaw Junior College, it saw more than 1,100 students sign up for classes during its first full school year. Students could earn two-year degrees from the college and transfer their credits to a full university later. It became Kennesaw College in the 1970s after adding four-year programs to its curriculum. The university also served as Kennesaw State College before becoming a university in 1996. Many now call the campus either Kennesaw State or KSU.

KSU really only requires three things from graduate students applying for admissions. It asks that those students complete the online application, which features sections on their educational interests and their professional experiences. There is a $60 application fee due at the time that a student submits one of these applications. The KSU Graduate College also asks for official transcripts that show a student maintained a grade point average of 2.75 or higher while working on an undergrad degree.

Select programs may have other requirements in place. Students should look at the degrees they want to earn to learn more about these requirements. Many programs ask for both a resume and a goals statement. Others may ask for a letter of intent or a writing sample instead. Students may need to submit an official test score from the GRE or another exam also.
