Programs offered online at the graduate level at Rowan University include a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Master of Arts in Educational Technology, a Master of Arts in Reading Education: Reading Practitioner, and a Master of Arts in School Administration. Additional degrees offered fully online include the Master of Arts in Special Education, the Master of Arts in Theatre Arts Administration, the Master of Arts in Wellness and Lifestyle Management, and the Master of Science in Finance.
The university also offers a Master of Business Administration, Master of Education in Teacher Leadership, a Master of Engineering Management, and a Master of Music: Jazz Studies through its online degree portal. The university’s online degrees are offered as a resource for adults returning to college, but anyone with the appropriate credentials can apply to the programs.
Additionally, degrees are offered in a part-time format online and often in an accelerated format, so students can take their time completing their degree. Rowan University is a public university in Glassboro, New Jersey, and it’s been in operation since 1923. The institution was founded as Glassboro Normal School and was built on a campus of 25 acres that was donated by more than 100 local residents. Approximately 19,000 students attend the university, which has as its motto the phrase, “Education, hope of the world.”
Today, the university’s suburban campus covers around 200 acres. The official colors of the school are Rowan brown and gold. Institutional accreditation comes from the Commission on Higher Education, which operates within the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The programs offered at the university are also approved by the State of New Jersey. Some of the degrees and their respective schools are further accredited by various agencies. In 2011, the Cooper Medical School at the university was granted preliminary accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
The Rohrer College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and was first accredited in 2003. Rowan University Application Requirements
To apply to Rowan University, students will use the Common Application, send an application fee of $65, and submit official SAT or ACT scores. Applicants must also send official high school transcripts, teacher evaluation or recommendation, and a personal essay. Students who want to enroll in an art, theater, dance, or music program must submit a portfolio or arrange an audition.
For study at the graduate level, the university requires similar application materials. Items include the online application, non-refundable application fee, official transcripts, and official test scores. Students must also submit recommendations, a personal statement, and submit to an interview for certain programs. Some applications for certain degrees will also include an interview with the admissions committee.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition at Rowan University for undergraduate students who live in New Jersey is $5,038.00 per semester and assumes students will enroll in 12 to 17 semester hours. Non-residents will pay $9,454.00 per semester for tuition. University fees add $1,962.00 to the total. In all, students should expect a full-time cost of $7,000.00 per semester if they’re residents or $11,416.00 per semester if they’re non-residents. The per-credit rate is $385.65 per credit for residents and $728.00 per credit for non-residents.
Graduate students who enroll in classes at Rowan University will pay graduate tuition of $715.50 per semester hour. The university doesn’t charge a different graduate tuition rate for residents versus non-residents. The university also charges a fee for each credit that amounts to $161.55 per semester hour. Doctoral students at Rowan University pay the same rate for tuition as graduate students, and they also pay the same university fee for each credit.
Students should complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if they want to qualify for financial aid at Rowan University.
