Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is a private institution with campuses in Florida and Arizona. The school was founded in 1926 in Ohio as the Embry-Riddle Flying School and would operate for a few years until it closed. In the late 1930s, the school would open again with a new campus in Miami, Florida. The school was initially focused on flight training when it reopened, but it would become a non-profit school in the late 1950s and become a university in the late 1960s.
Today, the university has more than 32,000 students enrolled across its system, which has several online programs available, as well as on-campus opportunities at satellite campuses around the country. The official colors of the university are blue and gold, and the school’s mascot is Ernie the Eagle. The university has sports teams that play as the Eagles in NCAA Division II games, as well as in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Application Requirements
Applications to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University may be sent at any time of the year since the school has rolling admissions for its fall, spring, and summer terms. The application fee is $50, and the university recommends that students begin the application process as early as possible or at least 50 days before the beginning of their desired semester of entry. Graduate students will also pay $50 for the application fee.
Application materials that first-year students must submit along with their official application and $50 fee include official high school transcripts, as well as degree-specific requirements for flight students and applicants interested in the unmanned aircraft systems program. Optional application materials include standardized test scores, an admission essay, a resume, and letters of recommendation. Graduate students will pay $19,886 for their tuition and fees, which assumes that students will enroll in six credit hours each semester. Books will add an estimated $1,400 to the total cost of attendance. Students who enroll at the flight school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will pay a different rate. The university estimates that students will pay somewhere between $15,000 and $25,000 each year for their flight fees. All students may also pay extra fees like a $150 orientation fee and a $286 technology fee.
Students may apply for federal student loans when they attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and must satisfy a variety of academic standards to maintain their financial aid awards. Not only must students progress at an acceptable rate during their program enrollment, but they must also maintain enrollment at a minimum of half-time status.
Students may qualify for merit-based scholarships, and students will have their eligibility for those awards examined when they submit their FAFSA form. The university awards more than $1.6 million in term and endowed scholarships each year, and students may apply for scholarships at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University throughout the year.
