The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a 60-credit program that is available fully online. However, students are required to participate in two face-to-face residencies to help them strengthen their workforce abilities. To further prepare for the in-person environment required of the profession, the program also features a 600-hour internship, a 100-hour practicum, and video components. The program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and students are prepared to sit for licensure as clinical mental health counselors. The program is accredited by both the ACBSP and the NEASC, and students gain the specific skill sets and knowledge base they need to succeed in a modern business career. Students may earn their degree in a little more than a year. Although classes are available fully online, students may also choose to take Master of Business Administration courses on-campus during the evening hours as well. The online MBA provides students with the flexibility to customize their program with courses that focus on specific areas of interest. SNHU gives students the opportunity to choose either a concentration or take elective courses in order to complete the 12-course program. Students without an academic background in business may be required to take foundation courses prior to graduating, and these students typically choose the elective option since these foundation courses may also fulfill the elective requirements. Southern New Hampshire University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition to regional accreditation, the school has earned national accreditations for several of its business, education, health, and hospitality degrees. Earning accreditation means that the school has passed a rigorous peer-review process designed to show the school what it is doing right and where it can improve in areas such as the degrees it offers, its faculty, and its student learning outcomes. In order to offer financial aid to its students, a student must be regionally accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Southern New Hampshire University Application Requirements
Students interested in pursuing an online graduate degree from Southern New Hampshire University must complete a full application, pay a $40 application fee, and sign a transcript release form for any schools previously attended. Students must also sign a graduate attestation form that indicates the student’s conferral date as well as his or her undergraduate grade-point average. Depending on the program, students may be required to provide additional documentation with their application such as letters of recommendation, GRE or GMAT scores, statements of purpose, essays, and a resume or curriculum vitae.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Students pursuing an online master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University will pay $1,881 per course or $627 per credit hour. Most online master’s programs require students to complete 30 to 45 credit hours. There are additional costs to consider, including a $150 graduation fee, a $40 application fee, and expenses for course materials.
