About McNeese State University

Located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, McNeese State University was established in 1939 and was originally named Lake Charles Junior College. At that time, the school only offered associate’s degrees. In 1960, the university became authorized to offer courses that led to a master’s degree, and in 1966, McNeese State University offered its first Master’s degree.
