Master of Science (M.S.) in Cyber Security
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Cyber Security is centered around minimizing cyber risks and decreasing cyber-attacks. Students will gain analytical skills, learn how to protect data, and master the methods and techniques to combating cybercrimes. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to detect, identify, get rid of, and reduce the risks of cyber-attacks. This is a growing, essential field, as technology continues to advance and become used in everyday life.
The following courses are required to earn this degree: Advanced Software Engineering, Applied Cryptography, Internet of Things & Security, Emerging Cyber Threats & Defenses, Secure Communication Protocol, Foundations in Cyber Security, and more. Students may also choose to specialize in one of three areas if they wish. The three areas of concentration are autonomous systems cybersecurity, cybersecurity and behavior, and data security.
Master of Accountancy (MAcc)
The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) focuses on teaching students several up-to-date methods and techniques, which involve understanding digital technology, more regulation, and increased management and communication. Graduates of this program will possess exceptional leadership skills, analytical skills, and adaptable skills. Students will be able to make sound decisions regarding companies as well as solve complex problems. The following are some of the mandatory courses for this program: Accounting Information for Decision & Control, Advanced Financial Accounting, Business Law for Accountants, Taxation of Businesses, Accounting Systems, Audit & Assurance Services, Accounting Ethics & Leadership, and more.
There are two different specializations that students may choose to incorporate into their program, which are fundamentals and practitioner. The fundamentals concentration is more suitable for individuals who do not have a bachelor’s in accounting, while the practitioner concentration is best for individuals who possess a bachelor’s in accounting. Both will prepare students to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) examination.
Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.)
The Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) teaches students how to become a leader in the healthcare field as well as advocate for patients who need care. This degree will provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to provide the most effective care to patients. The objective of this program is to produce the best nurses in the nation. Students will learn about all patients, including underserved patients.
Upon graduation, they will be able to develop individualized treatment plans to improve the outcomes of their patients as well as enhance the quality of life for all communities and populations. The following are a few of the required courses to graduate with the M.S.N. degree: Theories & Concepts in Nursing, Health Promotion, Advanced Pharmacology, Evidence for Practice, Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Health Assessment, and more. Students may choose between three different nursing concentrations, which include adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Depending on which concentration the student chooses, they will be required to complete certain courses pertaining to that concentration.

The University of North Dakota is a public university that opened in 1883. It is located in Grand Forks, North Dakota and possesses a graduation rate of 54 percent. The university is considered average size with an undergraduate population of 10,519 and a campus spanning across more than 500 acres of land. University of North Dakota Accreditation Details
The University of North Dakota has continuously received its accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (H.L.C.) since the agency first opened. The HLC is a regional accrediting agency that accredits colleges and universities in its specific territory. Some of the states that are currently in this agency’s territory are Arkansas, Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
The nursing program receives additional accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and the accountancy program receives additional accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). By receiving accreditation from the HLC, CCNE, and AACSB, the university has met all the educational standards for students to be successful in their field of study.
University of North Dakota Application Requirements
With an acceptance rate of 83 percent, the University of North Dakota is considered to be slightly competitive to gain admittance. All individuals interested in applying to one of the online master’s programs must complete an application form, pay the $35 application fee, provide all college transcripts, write 1-2 pages on the statement of goals, submit GRE scores, and turn in three letters of recommendation.
Tuition and Financial Aid
In-state and out-of-state graduate students who are enrolled in the online accountancy or nursing programs are required to pay estimated tuition of $835.51 per credit hour, which includes all fees. In-state and out-of-state graduate students who are enrolled in the online cybersecurity program must pay an estimated tuition amount of $886.51 per credit hour, including all fees.
Graduate students who are unable to pay for their courses may be able to qualify for a scholarship provided by the university. In addition, over 75 of the university’s departments offer graduate assistant opportunities that may be able to be completed virtually or on campus. The assistantships require the graduate student to work a certain number of hours, which consists of assisting professors and other faculty members with teaching, researching, or performing clerical duties.
