Troy University offers a multitude of degrees for undergraduate and graduate students. Degrees can be learned online or on location in Troy, Alabama.

Troy University Accreditation Details
Troy University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. This accreditation applies to all programs, including doctoral degrees and online learning. Some fields may hold specialized accreditation from specific governing bodies.
Troy University Application Requirements
Undergraduate applicants must complete the online application. They must also provide test scores and high school transcripts. Students are admitted to Troy University if they score a 20 or higher on the ACT and have a high school GPA of at least 2.0. Those who score 17-19 on the ACT may be admitted if they have a GPA of at least 2.5.
Applicants seeking a master’s degree apply online as well. They must also submit transcripts from all previous institutions and supply the appropriate test scores. They will also need to provide letters of recommendation and a medical history form. Most students are accepted to their chosen master’s degree program if they hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and can show that they achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5. They must also have achieved the required test scores on entrance exams, which vary by program.
Doctoral applicant admissions depend upon which program the student is pursuing. Doctoral students can expect to complete an online application, show proof of graduation from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0, provide letters of recommendation, provide a resume or CV, and other requirements as determined by the field.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The cost of attending Troy University is based on whether the student is an Alabama resident is or is from out-of-state. Resident tuition is $325 per credit hour. Out-of-state tuition is twice that amount at $650. In addition to tuition, students have a number of required fees for which they must pay. These charges include a general university fee of $42 per credit hour, a registration fee of $50 per semester, and program fees that vary depending on the classes and course of study.
Undergraduate students who live on campus will be charged about $8,500 for room and board regardless of their resident status. Other costs of attending Troy University include those for transportation, books, materials, and personal expenses. In all, Troy University estimates that in-state students will pay $25,720 to attend the school each year while out-of-state students must pay about $33,520. These figures are based on 12 hours of study each semester.
Graduate school students pay more per credit hour than undergraduates. The cost for Alabama residents is $425 while out-of-state students pay $850.
Troy University offers a number of scholarships to offset the cost of attendance. Undergraduates with excellent academic records may be offered a scholarship that pays all tuition, housing, and meal plan costs. Other scholarships range in amounts up to $10,000 per year.
Students are also encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This allows the university and the federal government to determine the amount of need-based assistance each student can use. Even those students who do not think they will qualify for need-based aid should complete the FAFSA, as it may be used for other needs, such as student loans.
